Call 811 Before You Dig

Know what’s below and prevent accidents — it’s free and it’s the law.

Alabama law requires you to contact utility owners at least two business days before starting work (not counting the day you call).

How to Notify Arab Electric Cooperative:

  • Dial 811 anywhere in Alabama or call 800-292-8525 if outside the state.
  • Submit your request online through the Homeowner Locate Request Portal
Provide project details and location when you contact 811 so underground lines can be marked safely.

The 811 logo is a registered trademark of the Common Ground Alliance.
