Faces of AECI: Tina Green

Thursday, 21 June 2018 20:12

I recently started a new feature in this space. No one is perfect, and we understand that. I promise you that I get that, and we are working hard every day to try to serve you the right way. Those who choose to serve with me here will never stop trying to improve how we serve you.

Quiet successes are often easily overlooked. Many of the employees at your Arab Electric Cooperative are going about their daily responsibilities the best they can to do a good job for you. Their successes need to be shared with you, and this space is one format in which I will do that.

Here’s how this article works: 1) I introduce what this person does to serve our members; 2) some of their good work habits are highlighted for you; and 3) they share some information about themselves as a person to you. Every employee who will be featured has full rights on whether they appear at all, and if they choose to do so, they also have full editing rights over how much information they share with you.

Tina Green is responsible for coordinating several of the more complex items for our Members including but not limited to:establishing new accounts, calculating all cost estimates for new construction or upgrades to existing service, coordinating power outage responses, and various items that impact the balance sheet and Member accounts.

Tina has earned the right to be the only AECI employee authorized to provide quotes for new construction projects for our service territory. We have contingency plans for when she maybe temporarily unavailable, but there are business reasons why this is Tina’s responsibility. Secondly, Tina has exhibited a strong dedication to learning how to improve how we do what we do.

What I most appreciate about the way she handles her business is that she consistently demonstrates a strong sense of urgency. She hates for anything in her personal responsibility to be late or not done well. Obviously, it is not enough to dislike being late or behind. Fortunately, Tina works hard to keep up and actively takes steps to ensure her work stays current. This sense of urgency is, unfortunately, becoming too rare in the modern work place, not just here but in society in general. Tina is one of the few who does not need to be told to “keep up.”

When Tina is not at work, she and her husband enjoy boating on Lake Guntersville, Alabama football and being “Nini” and“Pop” to granddaughters Aubri, 8, and Baylie, 2. Faith and family are their top priorities.

I hope this introduction was helpful. For those who know Tina, be proud of how she serves our Members’ needs. For the rest of you, please rest assured that you are getting more than your money’s worth from her performance.
